You're walking along and overcome with a very specific hunger. You want something chewy and moist, a treat that's not too sweet or indulgent.
You may be having an Anzac attack.
I had one the other day, but quickly ducked into Peels, where I got a perfect Anzac Granola Biscuit by pastry chef (and champion Tweeter), Shuna Lydon. Made with oats, dried coconut, pistachio and dried fruit, the biscuit had a sticky, crusty shell and a hearty interior. I nibbled it -- this granola bar with curves, this earthy macaroon -- as I walked down the Bowery. Next time, I will have it with something crisp and tangy, like lime-laced yogurt.
